Swami Chaitanya grew his first plants on a south facing slope of Telegraph Hill, in the heart of San Francisco, in the late 1970’s. It wasn’t until many years later, after sampling cannabis products across the globe and taking initiation in India into Raja Yoga and Sri Vidya, that he became Swami. When he returned to California, it was to Mendocino County to create a sanctuary and to hone the fine art of cultivating sungrown cannabis. Swami is a practitioner of regenerative agriculture using living soil. He has been a Judge in The Emerald Cup since it began in 2003, is on the steering committee of the Mendocino Appellation Project and is President of the Mendocino Cannabis Industry Association. His life is now devoted to teaching, meditating, farming, and helping others, primarily with the assistance of the great goddess of Ganja.
